Geolex, Inc.®
About Geolex
Geolex, Incorporated® (Geolex) is an international environmental consulting firm providing litigation support, environmental liability assessment, merger and acquisition due diligence and strategic environmental services. We support clients through conducting detailed technical analyses and provide expert witness services in complex environmental tort or cost recovery litigation. Geolex also assists Fortune 500 clients in evaluating, reducing environmental liabilities associated with acquisitions or facility operations. As technical experts and project managers, we pride ourselves in providing practical solutions to environmental problems through comprehensive permitting, regulatory and litigation support. Over the past thirty-five years we have developed significant expertise in evaluating and quantifying environmental liabilities associated with industrial operations and the investigation and remediation of groundwater contamination, especially due to NAPL migration, chlorinated solvents, petroleum products, and heavy metals. Over the last decade Geolex has developed specialized expertise in geologic sequestration of acid gas and CO2 as an environmentally-responsible and cost-effective alternative to the traditional methods of handling wastes and by-products of natural gas processing. Our expertise and commitment to practical, cost-effective solutions is combined with international experience and a proven track record with many clients throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America.
Geolex was founded by Alberto A. Gutiérrez in 1996 after the sale of Geoscience Consultants, Ltd (GCL), another environmental consulting firm which was also founded by him. Mr. Gutierrez operated GCL as President and CEO from its inception in 1983 until it was sold to BDM (now a part of Northrop Grumman Corporation) in 1994. GCL had annual revenues of over $40 million and more than 500 employees when it was purchased by BDM. After the sale to BDM, Mr. Gutierrez continued as president of BDM’s environmental subsidiary until 1996 when he founded Geolex, Inc. Geolex operates throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe from its headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The professional staff at Geolex includes hydrogeologists, engineers and scientists along with financial and business consultants who possess extensive experience in RCRA and CERCLA issues, cost allocation, compliance and acquisitions audits and litigation support. In addition to the service areas discussed above, we have well-established in-house capabilities for fate and transport analysis, aerial photographic interpretation, forensic geochemistry and CERCLA cost allocation. Our founder and President, Mr. Gutierrez, directly oversees all Geolex projects and has served as the Principal-in-Charge on over 450 successfully completed environmental projects since 1983.
